Team Controller

Department: Business Management
Location: West Hollywood, CA

The person in this position is accountable for the accounting operations of client entities, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of reported financial results.  Specific responsibilities for this position include:

MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.  Establish new/improved procedures as necessary.
  • Oversee the operational & reporting functions of the business management department (time and project management).
  • Oversee the control systems for the firm for reporting & compliance.

TRANSACTIONS

  • Generate and maintain the chart of account templates for defined client scenarios.  Develop new templates as needed.
  • Maintain a system of control over accounting procedures for compliance.
  • Banking control and releases.

REPORTING

  • Review financial statements and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the issuance of financial reporting packages (annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly deliverables).
  • Establish ad hoc financial projects & reporting as needed.
  • Establish financial and operating metrics to measure performance.
  • Manage the production of budgets and forecasts.
  • Establish report standardization and automation best business practices.

COMPLIANCE

  • Coordinate the provision of information to internal executive staff & CEO.
  • Maintains the log of all filings and reported information, providing accountability for accuracy and timeliness.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates as an active member of the executive team and contributes to best accounting practices.
  • Participates in new client roll-ins, ensuring scope of services to be provided is fully understood.
  • Special Projects.
  • Training, development and education of Business Management Team on Policies and Procedures.

This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who possesses strong initiative and the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.  He or she needs the ability to communicate effectively with internal and contacts to solicit support to complete tasks.
